About
Parker works full-time as a Marine Biologist monitoring the effects of coastal power plans and specifically the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power plant on the environment. He has an MS in Ecology and believes that exploring and integrating people from all walks of life into the ocean environment is a critical component of conservation. This includes unique partnerships that expand the availability and accessibility of Science to a progressive and forward-thinking audience.
Itinerary
Friday, 2/28
• Arrive by 1 PM, set up camp, and shuttle cars to off-site parking.
• Explore Hazard’s Reef during low tide (4:23 PM) and enjoy the sunset.
• Return to camp for a self-prepared dinner.
Saturday, 3/1
• Start the day with coffee and group stretching.
• Hike 6 miles on the Pecho Coast Trail (easy/moderate).
• Rest at camp, followed by a tide-pooling session at a secret spot (4:56 PM low tide).
• End the day with a vegetarian camp curry.
Sunday, 3/2
• Morning coffee and memory sharing.
• Shuttle back to cars, pack up, and say goodbye.
